Sana sana means healing. This giving season give the gift of healing in the outdoors to familias and comunidades by donating to Latino Outdoors.
The outdoors is a place for healing and
building comunidad. These last two years, in
particular, have made that clear. Whether it’s a moment of calm
watching the sunset, the shared laughter of tipping over a kayak
on flat water, or the joy of seeing your favorite migratory bird
return after a long winter south, we feel better outdoors. Sometimes
we find this healing in solitude and other times the healing comes
from reconnecting with friends and familia in nature.
Unfortunately, not everyone gets to experience the healing of time spent outside. Only 1 in 3 Latinx live within walking distance (1 mile) of a park and although 278 million people visit national parks yearly, only 9% of visitors are Latinx. Everyone deserves time outside. Everyone deserves to benefit from the healing found in nature.
With more than 500 outings benefitting 10,000 participants and counting, Latino Outdoors works to increase access to the outdoors and make our public lands more welcoming and inclusive. Familias and individuals join Latino Outdoors to find healing and community through hiking, camping, birding, kayaking, and simply being outside.
