Dear Friends,
This holiday season, we’re celebrating Wonder Without Walls because Science Belongs Everywhere.
Every day, our incredible team of educators brings hands-on science to hundreds of young people across San Francisco, sparking curiosity, creativity, and confidence in the next generation of scientists and creators. I am lucky enough to witness the impact of this work daily when students excitedly say they “want to write about how Gracie the gray whale evolved from land animals,” or when young fossil hunters carefully uncover 60-million-year-old fish fossils to take home and explain fossil formation to their siblings.
This fall, we launched our new Girls in STEM After-School Program, giving students the opportunity to explore physics, engineering, and biotech through creative, hands-on projects at no cost to families. We also expanded our paid High School Internship Program, providing 15 local students with teaching, exhibit development and leadership experience while mentoring the next wave of science learners.
And with the help of our beloved mobile science van, “Vancent Van Go”, we’re now rolling science beyond our workshop walls – bringing our hands-on programs to community centers and schools across the Bay Area. Everywhere we go, we see the same spark of curiosity light up in students' eyes, a reminder that science truly belongs to everyone.
