At LA Emissary, a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives, we are working to prevent and end youth homelessness in Los Angeles County by positioning young people with lived experience as co decision makers within the homeless response system. With your support, we can ensure young people most impacted by homelessness have the opportunity to shape the policies and funding decisions that affect their lives.
Across Los Angeles County, thousands of young people experience homelessness each year, yet their voices are often excluded from meaningful decision making. When lived experience is treated as an afterthought, systems fail to meet real needs and too many young people are pushed toward long term homelessness.
LA Emissary addresses this gap by training and supporting a countywide network of young leaders to engage in advocacy, influence funding and policy priorities, and collaborate with providers, funders, and public systems to improve the youth homeless response.
Together, we can build a system where young people are not just served, but empowered to lead solutions that create lasting change and prevent and end youth homelessness in Los Angeles County.
