The story of Latino Outdoors began in 2013 with a semillita planted in the form of a blog by our founder José González. In the ten years since, that seed has taken root and flourished into a movement and a national network of volunteers dedicated to leading experiences outdoors, expanding what it means to be "outdoorsy," and fostering new leadership in outdoor recreation, conservation, and environmental education. We are grateful for and honor the foresight of LO's legacy builders who rooted us in cultura y comunidad .

To date, Latino Outdoors has served more than 22,000 outing participants, nearly 1/3 of whom who are children and youths.   Tens of thousands more are part of our nationwide community of outdoor enthusiasts, mentors, and stewards.  

This was a big year for LO filled with celebrations, growth, and reflections. This giving season, we invite you to support Latino Outdoors and to tell us about your roots in the outdoors.
