In today’s world, many communities struggle to find resources, support, and connections to mitigate and adapt to climate change and natural hazards.  There are models and teams that can help but they need resources!

Project IN-CORE (Interdependent Networked Resilience Modeling Environment), a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives (Community Initiatives manages accounts and personnel), connects individuals and organizations with the resources they need to thrive. By creating a centralized platform, IN-CORE fosters collaboration, empowers grassroots initiatives, and builds networks of support.  The IN-CORE tool was developed by a consortium of 14 universities in collaboration with and originally funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to enable risk-informed community resilience planning with validated tools that integrate physical, social, and economic systems that benefit communities challenged by natural hazards and climate change.

Despite the potential for community-driven change, barriers still exist. Many individuals lack access to information about available resources. Additionally, funding can be a significant hurdle, making it difficult for initiatives to get off the ground. These gaps prevent communities from fully realizing their potential.
