Team Esface College Prep is a comprehensive basketball training program aimed at high school players. It provides advanced on-court skills training, character coaching, physical and mental aptitude development, and crucial recruitment relationship-building with college coaches.

Emphasis on the mental game, exposure to college-level practices, and individualized college recruitment strategies.

3. Overcoming Barriers: The Challenge Ahead:

•    Barrier:

The primary obstacle is financial. High-quality training, equipment, travel for tournaments, and exposure to college coaches require significant resources that are out of reach for players from low-resource households.

•    Statistics & Data: Disparity in Opportunity:

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) reports that less than 2% of high school athletes receive athletic scholarships for college. This percentage is even lower for students from underprivileged backgrounds due to limited access to quality training and exposure.

•   Impact of Socio-Economic Status:

Research shows that children from low-income families are six times less likely to participate in organized sports compared to their wealthier counterparts. This disparity is often due to the high costs associated with competitive sports programs.

I would like to say that Team Esface not only exposed my son to a world of opportunities that he would not have had if he was not recruited but it helped him become a better team player. Coming from Oakland Unified School District Skyline High School where the funds and opportunity were limited and barely existed he was excited to be in an environment that could propel his Basketball career in several directions. 

The structure, support and knowledge of the staff is beyond exceptional and unmatched to any that Jalen has experienced in the 15 years that he’s played (yes he started playing at three years old!) I thank you all for everything!

I have personally witnessed in one way or another all of Esface’s staff implementing the importance of developing a strong and positive attitude. I have been fortunate to have never missed a travel or local event and each and every time out the program and young men of Esface represent themselves like no other, the results I feel are again from the teachings and beliefs of the Esface program. 

Esface has continuously offered additional training opportunities as well as opportunities to workout with former and current college players which has heightened Zaden’s desire to play at the college level as well as provide a baseline as to what to expect. My name is Roni Naber and my son Alexander Naber, has ben part of Esface since 2012. My son was 6 years old and in 2nd grade when he joined Esface. We have stayed with Esface until the present day 2023. My son is sixteen and is a junior in highschool. He attends Serra High School in San Mateo. He plays varsity and is one of the top players on the team. It has been an amazing journey to say the least. When I found Esface my son started training and going to clinics, I was blown away by the amount of support and attention to detail my son received. I have seen other programs but nothing compared to what Esface was doing. From the practices, clinics and summer camps, personal training, and the weight room you couldn’t ask for a better environment to grow and reach your max potential in the sport. My son Alex played all year around with Esface including attending all there summer camps from June to July. We took advantage of every opportunity we received. 

Esface has installed discipline and a work ethic in my son that is second to none. He is always on the court training or in the gym building up his body and getting stronger. He wakes up at 5am in the morning before school to train two or three times a week. Esface is the reason my son is the person he is today. 

Thanks to Esface my son received a full ride scholarship to attend his highschool. The hard work my son put in paid off for us already. My son's goal is to receive another full ride scholarship to attend college in two years. 

Esface is part of my extended family. Dele and his team work hard to provide the latest basketball skill and training to their students. I couldn’t imagine not being part of this program. It covers it all. It’s a one stop shop to achieve your basketball goals and aspirations.
