In 2024, a staggering 75% of PHD participants indicated that they "found it difficult or very difficult" to find an academic advisor and career counselor who could guide them in pursuing a health professional program while undocumented

 

With 408,000 undocumented students currently enrolled in U.S. higher education institutions, it is imperative for universities and colleges to arm themselves with the necessary knowledge and resources to support these students, rather than turning them away.

 

Pre-Health Dreamers have developed a vital solution to bridge the information gap for schools and institutions: UndocuEDU.

 

What is UndocuEDU?


UndocuEDU (UED) is a transformative professional development program aimed at enhancing the competencies and advising skills of educators, staff, advisors, and administrators at universities and colleges. UED’s mission is clear:

  • To provide customized, campus-specific trainings based on our in-house institutional assessments
  • To dismantle barriers related to admission, financial aid, internal processes, and holistic advising
  • To significantly boost the admissions, retention, and graduation rates of undocumented students

With Pre-Health Dreamers’ UED support, institutions can set actionable goals to enhance resources for undocumented students and improve awareness of crucial topics, including:

  • Background checks
  • Access to clinical experiences
  • Entrepreneurship opportunities
  • Professional Licensure and more

For over a decade, Pre-Health Dreamers has empowered educators, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and overall effectiveness. In the 2023-2024 academic year alone, PHD trained over 1,126 educators, presented at 44 institutions, and conducted 31 online training sessions.

 

We invite all pre-health or career advisors, deans, coordinators, financial aid office staff, student affairs team members, admissions advisors, and recruiters to join us. Your involvement in this professional development program is highly valued and will make a meaningful difference.
