Women in Data Science Worldwide - Elevate and Empower

We are a global initiative that elevates and empowers women in the field, and provides community, opportunities, and support to all, at no cost.

Incubated at Stanford in 2015 as a one-day conference highlighting outstanding women doing outstanding work in the field of Data Science, WiDS Worldwide has organically grown into a global movement that elevates, empowers, and supports many thousands of women across the globe, and lowers barriers to entry and career success in the field. 

Data science is critically impacting our societies at an ever-increasing rate, yet women are still significantly underrepresented . At WiDS, we aim to elevate, empower, and support women in the field and lower barriers to entry and career success.

Our year-round programming, by women for all, includes 200+ conferences, monthly workshops, datathons, podcasts, a next-gen program for secondary education, and a career opportunity platform to help graduates match with future employers and WiDS members advance their careers.

An ever-increasing and collaborative group of WiDS Global Ambassadors bring WiDS programming to their own communities and build strong local networks supported by the WiDS central team. 

How to become part of the WiDS Movement

WiDS Worldwide relies entirely on donations from foundations, corporations, and individuals who want to support the movement. Equity in access with all programming available to all at no cost, diversity of voices, and inclusion and respect of diverse lenses and cultures are at the foundations of our initiative.

Donations can be made in your name or that of a family member or friend. You may want to honor a recent or future graduate or dedicate a donation in memoriam. You can add this information in the comments box on the Donate Page.
