The Predistribution Initiative is a multistakeholder project designed to co-create improved investment structures and practices that share more wealth and influence with workers and communities. Our ultimate goal is to address systemic risks like inequality, biodiversity, and climate change, which manifest as systematic risks in markets and investors' portfolios.

The financial system plays an important role as the plumbing of economies globally, and the Non-bank Financial Intermediary (NBFI) sector comprises nearly half of it. We work with actors in this sector - investors - to help them understand how their own activities can contribute to systemic and systematic risks, why they should care, and how to adjust their practices to avoid perpetuating negative impacts.

Areas of focus include incentive structures and investment governance, asset allocation and portfolio construction, and financial analysis practices. In particular, such activities at the asset owner and allocator level have impacts that cascade down to the rest of the economy, through asset managers and companies. Negative impacts are not only experienced by communities in the "real economy," but eventually cause deterioration in financial markets, as well.

What if we could align investment success with the health of the natural and human systems upon which the financial system rests? We are working toward this vision. Thank you for supporting our work, and please sign up on our website to stay engaged!
